I cant seem to find a way to set different notifications sounds for different apps on my new xperia z3 dual with kitkat 4.4.4. Also, I want to be able to view notifications on screen while the phone is in sleep mode just like the iphone, is that possible?
It seems that the email app can have different notifications.Go to email app-tap on 3 dots(settings)-tap on your email address,scroll down to ringtone.
About notifications on lock screen,that is not possible for now without a 3rd party app (look for floatify on google play). Android 5.0 should bring that.
The notification sounds are related to the app itself.What notification for apps do you want to change?
For the notification sounds,you can't change it in the Settings but you could have different notification sounds within each app.Or you could download 3rd party apps to customize it.
And for the viewing notification while phone is in sleep.I have no idea but it might be possible when you are rooted and/or using third party.But as i said,i am not sure of this.
For facebook and whatsapp they have their in-app sounds but for email and sms they share the same notification sound that you set in the Sound Settings.
