My phone is less then a day old! And now it is always stuck on boot [Replaced by Amazon]

I bought my phone from amazon.es, i'm portuguese. It arrived last night...

Tonight I just restarded my phone, and now when it boots up it is always stuck on "Safe-mode", I tried to do the trick "Volume up + power" and It doesn't work...

It seems that the "volume down" button is locked for some reason...

Going to contact amazon tomorrow...

Update: After some time waiting now it is working... I was using the Cell in a bath before this, It could be that moisture was inside the button, but the cell supposly is waterproof, so this happening shows that it might be not totally "waterproof"

But I don't know what to do...  I tempted to contact amazon anyway since i'm afraid this could happen again (and for good)...

What do you think???

You are not the firt user, that after put the phone in contact with water and it fails.
Please, tell us if it was finally the problem with your phone.

It has been some hours after it was poured inside water, and the problem is back, so I assume it is not water related! Right now it is working only because I didn't reset it, if I reset it I'll be stuck at safe mode again..

Going to talk to amazon, it is a shame that a high end phone ships with problems, it is very very sad....

Amazon agreed to do a replacement, the power and volume button continues to act crazy, hours after the time in water, I tried to dry it on the sun a bit, with rice and a hair dryer.

So for now I can safely say that it is unrelated with water exposure...

Hope that the next phone is in better shape... If not I will never buy anything else more from Sony.

The new phone arrives on tuesday!
