Microphone Problem only in Regular Calls| Lolipop 5.0.2

Hi everyone,

I have Z1 for one year, and it was really nice time, recently i upgrade to Lolipop 5.0.2, but then the mic stop working good.

If i make or recieve  a normal call, the other side can not hear me well, the vocie is bad and sometime its gone totally.

But if i try to recode a voice or movie or even make an internet call using Watts App or Facebook massenger, the mic is okay and fine.

Only in regular call it stop working good.

Same issue with Z1, it has happened after update from 242 to 270 through PC companion.

Hi all,
Let me tell you that "repairing" my phone with PCC has yielded the results. It seems that OTA upgrade is causing this problem. I also have read that a few people had problem during upgrading through PCC. Mainly because of interrupted network connection etc. Recommend you all to try upgrading with the help of PCC.

Do post your experiences and findings. It will be helpful to many such alikes!!

Temporary fix
Same here. But I noticed thank God after ending voice calls the E for edge connection was showing even if the call was started on H+. So I went to preferred network type and chose wcdma only. And not wcdma (preferred) with GSM.
my calls are very clear now. But I risk not being able to make calls if I go to an area where wcdma is not available.
I assume my battery life will be affected also.

Same problem. For the last four - five days, voice is always breaking up, people on the other end are complaining that they are not able to hear my voice clearly,

Please check and fix the software problem.

Sad to inform you that the voice breaking problem has resurfaced since today morning.

Hello fellow Xperia users,

I am also facing the same problem on my Xperia Z1. Exactly as mhnashikkar.

On regular calls, I have clear audio on my side, but broken with echoes on other side.

I have had no problems with the original lollipop update. However, problem started immediately after the second system update that came approx 1 week ago (the one that brought back clear all recently used apps).

My selected network type has always been "WCDMA (preferred)/GSM". Changing to "WCDMA only" seems to make things better, but I wouldn't call that a solution.

I am assuming that most people facing the same problem are from India. Could you please confirm?

An urgent fix is necessary, as audio call is the most important use for the mobile.

I had the same problem.

But, apparently, switching off "Microphone noise suppression" did help and I no longer experience any problems when my phone runs in "GSM only" mode.

I also have Equalizer set to "Normal".

The issue is gone. I never repaired my Z1C after upgrading to 5.0.2.

Yes, the problem start when I arrive in India, I was using WCDMA / GSM when I was in Kuwait and UAE, and it was working fine there.
Here in India I don't have 3G network so the problem starts.

I have your problem too.
After the Update to Lolipop 5.0.2, I figured out that the same problem as you.
Until the later update we can use our headset which I attached the picture
I checked it. it can solve your problem temporary.
