I had problem with mic - people couldn't hear me, because my voice was very quiet. Then I switched off mic noise suppression and everything was fine. Until update to 6.0.1. Now I have the same problem. And I can't switch off mic noise suppression, because this option is simply missed.
Any ideas how to fix this now? Or I should downgrade to previous android version?
UPD: may,19. Sony market topic as solved. But it isn't really solved at the moment. They will roll out an update in "upcoming weeks". And because we still have the same problem, I unmarked topic as solved. As soon as we will have the noise suppression option back and this will really help us - then I will return the solved mark.
UPD 2: In. 575 version the noise suppression function is back. People can hear me again. Thanks, Sony

Hi, I have the same problem too. I´ve sent email (I'm waiting on response) and call for support (only told me to upgrade via PCCompanion (done with no effect) or sent product to service (I'm waiting on another solution)).
I totally agree with this. I just spoke to the chat support and the first, and only answer, was over and over again "If there is a problem with your phone, send it to your local Sony repair shop". I tried to explain this problem to the guy in the support but it is like talking to a wall. I tried to over and over again say that it was not a hardware issue and I linked the different threads here telling about the former problem of "Noise suppression" and that the same problem has turned up again, would not listen.
I will not send in my phone to a workshop when all I know that they will do is say there is no wrong with my phone (which I already know) and then tell me to "Perhaps re-install the software".
The support guy told me that "They have people working on solving the problems in these threads". Well if these "people" are reading this then please get off your a**es and re-implement the function of turning "Noise suppression" off so that I can use my phone again.
Have I understood correctly, that several of you guys have in fact tried the "repair with pc companion" suggested by Sony support? And it has not corrected the fault? I am asking because I hesitate to wipe my phone on a hunch that very likely will make no difference. It likely would just cause more grief to have to configure all of my apps, accounts and settings all over again. Can some of you confirm that it does not work?
Thanks,
-mso
Hi!
I have the same problems as you guys. I have tried the PC companion and its not doing any good.
Have contacted sony mobile Norway, and they want me to send the Z2 to where i bought it.
Sony have to launch a fix for this!
Today i repair my phone with Xperia Companion and it's same. My microphone is ok when i use TEST but when i speak with somebody they don't understand me good . Microphone before UPDATE is work good after update no .
And with microphone i see that WI FI is lower after update ..other things are ok for now .
Can you help me ? I have one more phone before Z2 and he is "in trash" becase i update him to 4.3 with official update and he now restart 15x on day (LT30 ) -,- ..cmon sony please make new UPDATE with FIXED bugs .I can't speak with nobody .. 😕
I did the repair with PC companion two or three times, then once with the newer xperia companion. All attempts were with no results other than having to restore my phone every time.
Reinstallation by PC Companion has no effect and the worst thing is, that PC Companion backup backups nothing (no contacts, no aplication data, only photos and media were restored)....searching for solution to backup other way
And there is one think I could not understand - after this whole reinstallation by PC Companion (all data have to be lost) there still persists some wifi connection data (at office I have to set password once more, but at home there were no problem - I've just turned on wifi and I´ve been connected without asking on password (WPA))? How it is possible?
I noticed that when using the Audio Recorder app, the stereo modus is working. Only mono is recording some kinfdod silent noise.

Welcome to the community.
Can you please test the microphone in Settings > About phone > Diagnostics > Test > Microphone and see if it's working OK there?
Can you also please run the same test in safe mode?
I've done this. Mic sounds fine in normal and safe mode.
Do something. As someone pointed out these phones might have to be used in an emergency and no one will understand what or where that emergency is. Not to mention we all spent money on phones that Sony has rendered useless for phone calls.
