Hi all, I've currently got the Xperia Z and love it but looking to upgrade to the Z3
Had a quick google and search on forums but I can't find the answer.
With the Z3 which is quicker to charge by, the Micro-USB port, or the Magnetic Charger port?
Assuming they are both off a wall not a computer, and so would be at 2.1 A not 1 A.
Also anyone with a Z3, what's the rough charging times you tend to see?
Cheers!

Hi,
One point. I've heard that the drawback of using magnetic port is that if the magnet is too strong, it could lead to make the magnetic charging port in the phone come off. I recommend one of those cheap you can buy online connected to micro USB with an annoyingly weak magnet, it forces you to ensure the connection and sometimes loosens during charge, but you will make sure that the port in the phone will not come out over time.
Regards
My Z3 on Magnetic charging stops charging at 83% and the charge symbol and LED flashes.. I`ve heard this is common but not heard a solution
I've had same thing, just check connection, clean it if its dirty, or disconnect and connect cable, led flashes because charging rate is too low, i've also made a few test's by checking charging rating through usb and it was 1.45 mAh and by magnetic port only 1.01 mAh, rating is thereabout like this.
Yesterdays update appears to have fixed this
I charged it in the dock last night with the phone on and it charged to 100%
Actually I was premature.. Charged it last night and it stopped at 83% and started flashing. Had to turn the phone off to get 100%. Do Sony ever fix any bugs in their updates. If something happens to my old Dad and he can't call because I've turned my phone off I'm gonna sue Sony.
this answer might be a bit late, but however i own a z3 and i just a moment ago found out that if you use the magnetic cable with a fast charger the label on the Z3 will change to rapid charge but when i used the USB cable with the same charger it was saying charging slowly,
i hope that this would answer your question
