I have Z1 Compact for 2 weeks and every second day my phone looses its mobile data connection... even the data transfer icon dissapears from the top line of the screen... only restart fixes it... and it is happening again in about 24 hours 
I am noticing this every morning as i drive my car to work and im using Waze navigation programm, that shows "Searching network" in red... also emails and Chrome is not working...
Does someone had such problem and know how to fix it?

Today evening ill try to disable wifi by location and see the results :)...
As i turned off the smart connect when i was testing my SIM i didnt turn it back on since that, so it is disabled all the time...
About wifi during sleep - while i was testing my SIM and mobile data connection on last holidays (saturday-sunday) every morning i noticed that my wifi is turned on (but it wasnt me who turned it on
) so when i noticed that i turned wifi OFF... but on the next morning it was back ON :)...
My home network router with wifi is ON all the time (24/7)
I think it is related to wifi by location.But report here.
You were right! On late evening i disabled the WiFi and also disabled WiFi by Location... and on the morning
the mobile data connection was still active and WiFi was still OFF as I left it... just dont know why the phone is reviewing the Wifi by Location settings at midnight but it looks so that something is happening at midnight if the Wifi Location is enabled...

Guys, Im getting mad. its 2 months that i have bought Z1 compact. 3 days ago same problem happend. mobile data was gone. its really a pain to bring back! even phone reset does not work. this is what I did:
checked APN settings
did a factory reset
rapired phone via pc companion
replace my SIM with a new one. and problem is still there.
any idea? 
I'm having the exact same problem with my new Xperia Z1 Compact. I can't get data services at all. Yesterday, my data service dropped, but I was able to get it back by restarting the phone. Today the service dropped and I can't get it back at all.
I turned off all battery saving features. I disinstalled the only software that I had installed yesterday just before the problem first occurred. (It was Nova launcher Premium. I returned to the base Xperia launcher.)
I tried putting my SIM card in a different phone, and the data service worked fine.
I tried putting a different SIM card in the Xperia Z1 Compact, and the data service doesn't work with the other SIM card.
I'm thinking of trying a factory reset, but I've already spent hours setting up my phone just the way I want it, so I'd like to know how likely this is to solve the problem and if there's anything else I can try first.
I would appreciate any help.

I'm beginning to think it's the fault of my provider, perhaps not recognizing the new phone. In fact, I got a message the first day I had the phone saying that they were going to send me an SMS to configure internet services on the phone. The SMS never arrived, but the data services worked fine, so I didn't think any more about it. I called the provider, and on their voice menu, chose the option "configure phone for data services". They said that the configuration had worked and they would send me an SMS to confirm it, but they haven't sent it. I can never get a human being to speak to, so I'm going to have to take it to the store where I bought it; he knows how to contact a real person.
Another thing I tried, and forgot to mention, was booting the phone in safe mode, but that didn't work either.
