Launcher

I'm keen to try out another launcher on my 6.0.1. system but I'd like to be sure I know how to uninstall it before doing so.

Where does one find the launcher? And how is it installed? If it's to be found alongside all other apps, what is its name? What is the name of the launcher that is part of the stock Xperia installatioin?

Hi, i have used Nova Launcher for all of the Sony Xperias i have owned, available from the Google Play Store......never had any problems at all with it & the customization is fantastic, what happens is if you decide on another Launcher (there are many to choose from) you can actually once it is installed toggle between the Sony Home Launcher & your choice of 3rd party one simply by going into Settings~Home then you will see the original Sony & the one you have installed. Then you can select/toggle between the 2 or how many you have installed......for deleting there is simply a 'trashcan' beside the named launcher.

Also, just to add to what dandy63 said, when you press the 'Home' key after you've installed a secondary launcher, a popup menu should appear, and from there you can also select which launcher to use - if you select "Just Once" each time, you can test out multiple launchers faster, as you won't need to change the default (Sony) each time.

Here's a capture of the menu dandy is talking about, but I've gone one step further, and chose to only load Nova launcher when I boot my phone, that's why the Xperia Home isn't appearing as an option.

Oh, and Brovig, for the love of God, DO NOT INSTALL "GO LAUNCHER" DO NOT INSTALL "GO LAUNCHER"   DO NOT INSTALL "GO LAUNCHER"  DO NOT INSTALL "GO LAUNCHER"  DO NOT INSTALL "GO LAUNCHER"

 DO NOT INSTALL "GO LAUNCHER"

Did I make myself clear?

edit:  PS- Google usually have sales, and Nova Prime usually goes down to 99c

Many thanks to you both, NeoBeum and Dandy63. I'll give it a try. I had in mind to try the Blackberry launcher.

Ah, I see. Thanks!

That brings up another point. I've seen that some apps come with ads, and often fairly unobtrusive, but they don't seem to offer an option to have them removed in return for a modest charge, something that's pretty common in the iOS world.

Am I missing something? Or is the Android world a little different?
