What's wrong with the IMEI #? you can see the number either on the box or settings > about phone

Hi basedbot,

Also who advised you that the IMEI was invalid?

Please do not supply the IMEI number on this post, if you do want to share it please do so via PM

I have the same/similar issue with my Z5 Dual. When checking my IMEIs using *#06#, the phone displays two numbers, one for each sim card slot. The system displays two slightly different numbers when checking via the settings menu (Settings > About Phone > Status > IMEI Information). After a few failed attempts at registering with the numbers displayed in system settings, and a successful attempt using one from the *#06# prompt, as well as several firmware updates I never received via OTA, I went back to look at the differences. Turns out the numbers in system settings are only 14 digits long (IMEIs are 15 digits in length). Not sure if this has anything to do with the missing OTA updates or not, hopefully after I update via the companion software I'll start getting OTA updates again. My last 4 phones have been Xperia but I'll gladly stop buying them if I have to use the companion tool for every update.

Forgot to mention, the IMEI validation only recognizes one of the two numbers (sim card slot 1). The other returns a message which says "Sorry, the information is currently not available. Please try again later."
