Hi,
I did it and I cannot for the life of me figure out HOW I did.
I edited 2 videos - one I made the middle part slow-mo. The other one I trimmed off extraneous parts of the video. I have these videos saved on my phone as MP4s so I knwo I'm not going nuts.
I remember fiddling with the videos to edit them. HOW did I do this. I tried every which way to do it again and cannot remember what I did.
I am almost 100% certain I did not use that Movie Creator thingie that came on the phone.
I believe I didn't have to use any special app at all.
I even considered the posiblity that you can make edits to videos only right after you take the footage by opening it up when the file is still in the DCIM/100ANDRO folder in the file system, but that's not the case either.
PLEASE HELP!!!

If you want to Edit videos, this is how
Open the camera > modes > time shift video > record a video > then you will be able to edit the video.
If you want to Edit videos, this is how
Uliwooly. Thanks:
the steps say to do the following. The problem for me is with step number 2. I do not have the icon of the slap box and therefore cannot continue with the steps. The icons that appear when I tap the video are:
the orangish "Album" icon
The Messaging icon
the 3 pronged icon that will open up "messaging", "DNLA" "email" "photos" etc.
The 3 boxed icon that when touched shows "Throw, details, and hide."
ANYBODY PLEASE HELP - What can I do to get the slap box to come up?
To trim a video
- In Album, find and tap the video that you want to play.
- Tap the screen to display the toolbars, then tap
> Trim.
- To move the trim frame to another part of the timeline, touch and hold the edge of the trim frame and drag it to the desired position, then tap Apply.
- To save a copy of the trimmed video, tap Save.

This only appears to work with the last video that you shot. Not with ones you shot in the past.

Uliwooly,
I figured out what the problem was. I had TWO versions of Movie Creator on my list of apps (as viewed from the application manager in Settings. ONe of the movie creator apps is listed as "2.0A0.10" and the other is "1.3A0.11" I had disabled one of them (can't remember why but there was a good reason for it). So just now when I went back in and enabled the one that was disabled - that caused the splap box to appear when I tap a video from the album. Now I can edit any video I made the way I had wanted to.
Tahnk you for providing info that got my brain to go in the right direction!!!
