High Data usage by Android OS - Help!?

Hi, I am seeing high mobile data usage by "Android OS".

What is it due to?

Can help me please?

My xperia acro s operating system has somehow downloaded 2GB in the last month.  Obviously this is a problem.....

My phone (xperia acro s) is giving me a data usage warning and it seems the OS is out of control downloading something.  It has chewed through over 2GB in a month, and .93BG in the last week.  Please tell me how I can stop this OS monster from chewing through all my quota.  I have already gone through one pre-paid update and will have to chuck the phone or keep forking out if I don't fix it soon.  Turning data off until I want to use it is going to have to be the solution for now.

As you can see above its not the OS but apps

check this 

settings > data > check what apps are using up most of your data

I am having the same problem on my Xperia L.

I have disabled everything that I think it might be consuming traffic but it did not worked. Any fix for this?

You can disable background data for the trouble apps.

Unfortunately that did not work for me. I've disabled everything and "Android OS" is still consuming a huge amount of data.

Android OS is in the power management,not in dsta usage.You have apps acting up.

I turn off my background data and auto... but still os service is taking my data....why...?
