GPS does not work properly after Marshmallow update

I've the problem that after update to Marshmallow my device does not get a GPS lock anymore while my other Z5 with Lollipop with the same configuration runs perfectly like the other one did before the update.

In open air it takes about 1-2 minutes until the Marshmallow device gets a lock with about 3-4 satellites.

Does anyone have an idea what I can do? Attached screenshots taken more or less simultaneously so prerequisites and location are identical.

Do you experience the same on safe mode?

How to boot on safe mode on Lolipop
1. press and hold the power key
2. once you get the pop up menu
3. press and hold "power off"
4. Boot on safe mode should become available

The problem persists in Safe Mode:

Marshmallow - does not work

Lollipop - works

Maybe you could try to clear gps fix data with the service test panel accessed via *#*#7378423#*#* .

If I understand this post correctly, GPS works fine in Lollipop but not in Marshmallow?  I have THAT problem IN Lollipop... don't mean to threadjack.  Have not updated since I'm not convinced the update fixes it, and then Andiling states he is having this problem in Marshmallow.

If the problem is the same as I am experiencing in Lollipop, then the GPS Purge Assistance Data (via *#*#7378423#*#*) will probably work, but then it will not get a fix once you drop GPS (use after a while).

Eager to know about any updates.

Clearing the assistance data or downloading AGPS data with an app does not help.

My experience after some time is that under Marshmallow the GPS reception is much worse than before. If I'm under clear sky and wait for some time I get a lock. But this is far beyond anything practical... (Location is set to "High accuracy" btw).

The situation is unchanged with 32.2.A.0.224.

I can add that I have been experiencing the issue too.  Had problems with getting a GPS fix in an adequate timeframe, and it got worse with Marshmallow: tested the 32.2.A.0.224 and 32.1.A.1.185 versions (skipped the first one)... same results.

Even the GPS Location Test performed after a Purge Assistance Data + Restart takes too much time:Screenshot_20160616-204157.PNGScreenshot_20160618-203642.PNG

Unfortunately the problem persists for me until now and an important feature for me is missing everyday. Despite having a top model from Sony no one seems to take care for this issue. I cannot use my Z5 as daily driver anymore... Crying_Face

Quick update:

GPS performance and accuracy spotty at best, previously in Marshmallow and now on 32.3.A.2.33. This was after just receiving a new replacement until from Sony a few months ago. Was told to send it in again for engineers to look at it again (should have done it the first time, instead of replacing unit). Can't send since I don't have a replacement phone yet.

Finding myself resetting phone prior to using GPS. Accuracy still no closer than 30 or 40feet. After 5 minutes of not using phone, difficult to get signal again. The Sony GPS Service Menu (*#*#service#*#*#) Purge Assistance Data option doesn't improve condition... Ever.

Defeats the purpose of having a "ready for use GPS" in a sense, since I have to wait; I already use Google maps on my laptop to plan drives. Not if related, but Bluetooth also giving problems until phone is reset (won't connect to obd2 adapter).

Disappointed. Not expecting issue to be fixed in a future issue since it is not being acknowledged. Wish I could go back to Kitkat...
