Fingerprint sensor and camera button not working since update

Xperia Z5 Premium updated a few days ago. Since then I've lost all fingerprint sensor function, and the camera button does nothing. In the Lock Screen & Security settings, the sensor doesn't even show up as an option. I can still see the software running, but it does nothing.

I've rebooted (a few times), run the software repair through the Companion suite (losing all the data on the phone) and checked every possible setting in the phone, but to no avail.

Help would be appreciated.

Thanks

@PullsyJr

Did you flashed the phone with flashtool/xperifirm? perhaps the USA version?

Also, settings > about phone > diagnostics > test > test fingerprint

I first updated using the automated update feature (the notification that it had an update) which is when I originally got the problem. Then I used the Companion software after reading a few of the solutions here, which tended to say to do that. I have no idea whether this is the US version or not: how do I find this out?

My phone doesn't show up the "Test fingerprint" option in Diagnostics. I did find the "Camera button" test and it returned "Failed" (but no option on how to fix it).

@PullsyJr

repair the phone once more with XC and report back.

I've just finished "repairing" the phone with the XC program, and nothing has changed. I still have no functioning fingerprint sensor or camera button. The phone doesn't even recognise that the hardware is present.
