I'm having difficulty downloading photos I have taken on my phone to my PC. When I connect the phone to the PC, there is no sign of the photos in any of the folders that are accessible, eg. the DCIM folder appears to be empty. But the photos are definitely still there, on the phone.
I have tried various computers, PC and Mac, but the problem persists. I would really appreciate any help or advice on how I can find the photos and then transfer them.
Solved! Go to Solution.
Settings > Xperia Connectivity > USB connectivity > USB connection mode > MTP > connect to a PC
Computer > Xperia Z1 Compact > SD card > DCIM > 100ANDRO
When you connect your phone, do you search both Phone Memory and SD card? Because there will be DCIM folder in both of them.
Hi Berryman,
Welcome to the community,
You could also try using a File Manager, this will allow you to navigate through the handset and try find the content directly. You may already have an application installed called File Commander, if you do use this app and check the DCIM folder, if there is nothing within this location then the photos are located somewhere else.
Settings > Xperia Connectivity > USB connectivity > USB connection mode > MTP > connect to a PC
Computer > Xperia Z1 Compact > SD card > DCIM > 100ANDRO
Wouldnt he want to use MSC mode here, as MSC mode is SD card only.
Hi, Thanks for the advice - I can now see the photos on the pc and have downloaded them.
Much appreciated,
Best wishes
