I contact local Sony support (Turkey) but couldn't get any satisfying answer. Does my Xperia Z5 support Qualcomm's Quickcharge 2.0 tecnology? If so, why is not there any information about this anywhere? If not, why Sony UCH10 Q.C. 2.0 charger's Official Page says it supports Xperia Z5? I read lots of articles, reviews, watched some videos about it but still there are no exact answer. My stock charger is UCH20 and it provides a 5V x 1,5 A = 7,5 Watt output. Will UCH10 provide 9V x 1,7 A = 15,3 Watt output charhing power to my phone as it claimes? So will it reduce my charging time by half?
I have an Z5 and i use the Quickcharger, so yes, it works and it´s really fast.
So how much it take to charge 0 to 100? With stock charger i think it takes 140 minutes
It´s listed on Qualcomm web-site.
Download the PdF file. Page 17 and then, Page 23
About you´re question:
"The Quick Charger UCH10 reduces the charging time for Xperia™ devices that support the Qualcomm® Quick Charge™ 2.0 standard. Using the Quick Charger, you can charge an Xperia™ smartphone for 45 minutes and get up to one day of use from the device, or you can charge an Xperia™ tablet for 30 minutes and get up to 3 hours of video playback time.
When charging a device with the Quick Charger UCH10, always use the UCB11 cable that was included with the charger at purchase." |
Qualcomm says; "These devices contain the hardware necessary to achieve Quick Charge 2.0. It is at the device manufacturer’s discretion
to fully enable this feature."
So it is not totally proofs Z5 supports Qc 2.0
I think most important question is "If Z5 have QC 2.0, then why there is no written spec about it anywhere?" Reason of my doubt is there are videos only shows Z5 being charged with UCH10 0 to 100 in 120 minutes, not 70-80
Since Sony manufacters Quick Charger UCH10, and have Z5 as compatible device, the Z5 HAVE QC 2.0.
This values are only achieved in laboratory conditions.
Even Sony don´t say that. Just read again what i´ve poster above:
The Quick Charger UCH10 reduces the charging time for Xperia™ devices that support the Qualcomm® Quick Charge™ 2.0 standard. Using the Quick Charger, you can charge an Xperia™ smartphone for 45 minutes and get up to one day of use from the device.
We can´t forget that Z5 was advertised with 2 days battery life.
Many thanks!!!
