Dear Gentlemen,
i connect my mobile Z3 with our Exchange Server (email system) everytime i try to make sync or refresh i get this Message
“Could not open connection to server”
please there is any way to solve this problem

I have a Z5 and my hotmail account is also having this message appear at the top of the screen when trying to do a sync. I just noticed after reading some of the above posts that I emptied the bin via the app. Since then it has stopped syncing new emails. Clearly must be an issue with using this feature, logging on to the web Outlook with the same password showed all my new emails. My other hotmail account on the phone also works fine.
Any ideas if Sony is addresing this issue??
Having the same problem.
Got my Experia just before christmas. Was working fine. Xmas we went away. No wifi, Put the phone on restricted mobile data use. Since I've switched it back to regular use it's been unable to connect to MS servers.
Dear Sony, this issue IS NOT WITH MICROSOFT. It's clearly with your devices as no other phones, android or otherwise, are having problems communicating with MS mail servers.
What I've tried:
This is rendering this phone almost unusable for me - I can connect through outlook online but why should I have to spend time arsing about when it should just be there and working?
This is my first Experia; I've not trusted Sony Phones since the farce that was the Vivas. It will be my last if this isn't sorted soon.
I had the same problem.
The issue was resolved by following the support provided by outlook.com.
Titled:
"Fix email sync issues or remove a device from your Outlook.com or Outlook on the web mailbox."

Nothing helps. Still not getting my mails.
What I did was install Outlook app and get my mails from there.
My newest sony X performance did this to me this morning for the first time. Ive had the Z3, ZL and my son has the Z5.
Usually when i get a new phone the first thing i do is disactivate the "auto update" for all the apps. But this time i didnt, and i think that was my prob, some app updated and messed up my connection with mail server. Checked everyother settings about the mail, passwords, push notifaications, etc etc..
So my soulution after disactivating lots of apps and removing things i dont need. Restart the phone, and then removed my acount the email app.
After starting over my email account, it works perfectly..
Really, sony should sell the phone without default "auto update"
AND NEVER MAKE A PHONE WITHOUT FM RECEIVER!!! My biggest disappointment with this phone 😕

Why does my device come up as could not open access to server on email
I read my emails on phone all of a sudden I lost contact and I am finding it hard to connect saying can not connect to server
