Camera lens film protection?

Hello,

I don't know if this is a normal film protection and I should remove it or if it is a manufacturing defect. Please see attached photo of my Z2 lens. Do you have some advice?

Hi

I'm new to this forum. I have an Xperia M2 and me too completely removed the UV coating. Most people say their camera became better. But when you shoot in bright sunlight you may see a violet tint due to the presence of ultraviolet.

I have tried taking some pictures of flouroscent lamps and I can see a violet tint which was never seen before the coating was removed. Flourescent lamps like CFL are said to be dangerous due to UV leaking and that was detected by the camera.

You can now use the phone to detect the presence of ultraviolet.:smileysmileywink: I am also thinking of buying an UV blocking screen protector and stick it on the camera glass to see whether it blocks UV or not.

Same issue here.. The Z2 camera lens are probably easily scratched. The toothpaste thing did nothing but making the scratch more visible.

I don't want to replace the whole back panel for just some tiny little scratches.

I need another solution.

Don't worry. It might not be your lens glass that is scratched, probably it is the uv coating. If the coating is uneven, then use some spirit or perfume spray on a microfiber cloth and rub on it gently. Some suggest using toothpaste. But some toothpaste have some granular particles in it that might scratch the glass. I have used perfume spray on my Xperia M2 lens to remove the coating and I have applied a clear transparent scotch tape over the lens, that won't degrade image quality and moreover it protects the lens from further scratches. Also it is better to use a protective case that prevents the lens glass coming into direct contact with surfaces when you place it somewhere.

This is how my Camera looks:

Are you sure about that solution? I can't risk trying anymore. Thanks!
