"We can advise Sony Xperia do not test our products with other manufacturer’s devices and so we can not confirm the two devices are compatible.
As the handset has been updated this does indicate it is running different software which means the Bluetooth will have also been updated. Sadly, as Sony Xperia does not test our products with third party Bluetooth devices we will not have been able to foresee the change with your specific device.
We could only suggest that you contact the manufacturer of the device for any further assistance as there is nothing further we could advise."
As well as they dont test their products AT ALL.. as the bluetooth doesn't work with thier own products either...
BTW - what audio system have you got in your Insignia?
Its the CD400 system,
Surely a company like Sony would not alienate 10 of 1000s of customers by being aware of this problem and not sorting it out. Vauxhall is one of the largest manufacturers in the world why would they not consider it important.
I have a 2014 model Ford Fiesta and I'm having the same issues with my BT connection, plus the stay awake bug if I allow the car to read my text messages, so this is another major car manufacturer that Sony has either forgotten about or ignored.
It is currently running 4.3 but the system says that I have the latest updates installed how can I get version 4.4?
This issue also affects the brand new Z3c flagship handset. I am unable to connect with my existing 3rd party bluetooth devices, which is not a problem for either the iPhone 5s or the Samsung S5.
Dear Sony, please fix your bluetooth. It's unfair for users who took a risk buying your phone over the usual handset makers.
Gentlemen Sony: I get tired of doing tests, your M5, does not connect with my car, other brands probe and all connect with the car. It seems to me that they are not responsible
