πŸ”‹ battery runs out too fast

For how long should the battery last with my brand new z2? When I play a game or use the Internet for a short time the battery goes from 95 to 85%. This can't right? Should. I go to the store and trade for a new one?

I would say that those stats you gave rule out any misbehaving app.

You're down to the screen and brightness control i reckon.

With 1 hour 15 screen on time and 75% battery remaining, you're on target for 5 hours screen on time which I would say is pretty good for a recent large screened smart phone.

It depends on what game are you playing and what apps are running in the background.

The battery is very good but if you're using screen intensive stuff and accessing the Internet, then the battery will zap. Turn stamina on and close background apps.

I experience it too. And at the same time it gets insanely hot. Its approaching 50degrees Celsius which is so hot that a phonecall is very unpleasant since its to hot to hold against my ear. If I compare with our Samsung Galaxy S4 it uses less battery and only rise to 36 degrees Celsius. The Z2 runs exactely the same apps apart feom, the native Sony and Samsung apps.

How do I do that? Background apps? The screen is whats drawing the most battery. I'll post photos of the battery app later. The screen can go for max 4 hours

I would say that screen usage of 4 hours is about average for a smartphone these days, although I manage to get 5+ out of my Z2.

If you are gaming a lot then of course the processor and GPU are also being run pretty hard and it's not unusual for the phone to get hot, and also to expect slightly less screen time.

The first option is always to reduce the screen brightness to your acceptable minimum.

Screen 65% (running for 1hr 15min), android system 6 %, chrome 5 %, android os 4%, cell standby 4 % and another 5 apps running 2 % each. At this point the phone has been turned on for 2 hrs 58min and has 75 % battery left, but this vary very much. The modt I gotvfrom the screen was CA 4 hrs
