Hi
I got my sony xperia z5 a couple of weeks ago and encounter backup problem today. It was running as usual a week ago.
I went into Setting => Backup & reset => More => Manual backup
then try to change the "where to store file" to my gmail account but it wont sign in. It kept on saying "online account not signed in". Not matter what it wont let me change to online account, although the backup account section has my gmail signed in.
My gmail account is signed in in the accounts section as well and I cant find any other area that I need to sign in.
Could someone please help. This is the first time it happen since I got my z5..
Thanks thanks...
+1 getting this issue on my Z5C (32.1.A.1.163)
Hi Guys,
I have the same issue. The sony technical support diverted me to to sony authorized service in order to fix it. But when I I googled it but i can't find anything and I check here the problem existed on all Xperia Z5 series after the marshmelow upgrade. We are waiting the sony to fix this issue with an update.
Hi!
A colleague of Xperia discussion forum in the Czech Republic tried to report that after installing Android 6 for Sweden, Release: 32.1.A.1.181 / R 6C Online Backup works correctly. Please SONY comparisons with versions Release: 32.1.A.1.163 / xxx and quick repair.

Its working for me today, try again (im on 32.1.A.1.163)
- would be interesting what the problem was...
So I tried it again and now online backup works perfectly fine even with the original assembly. Maybe Google or Sony repaired access to their servers.
Great!
Thank you
Just out of curiousity, I saw a post earlier where Rickard confirmed that there was a change in how Marshmallow was writing to the SD card if it's being used as an internal affecting some other Sony apps - he said that there was a fix coming, but I was curious -
Are you able to backup to SD, if you guys are using it as Internal storage?
Yes, already it works, but there's a catch, however, phone, or the entire backup mechanism apparently remembers previous unsuccessful commands to backup to online storage and now he saw that it already goes, repeatedly carried out before the required deposit. Pretty funny.

Yay, it works! Thank you Christofer and Sony for fixing the issue
