keep in mind that you can't restore files that are/were stored on the internal storage only SD card, and you can use RECUVA to do so.
Trial and error, not all file commanders will work, what's wrong with file commander?

It seems that Google is allowing more freedom to other file commanders, trial and error, I haven't tested another file commander but I'll let you know
I've used ES File Explorer (rooted and un-rooted) ...BEST file manager app I've used - among many!
Use ASTRO File manager with Cloud, its got a great interface and its free.
Hello Amro161. In my opinion ES file Explorer is the best file managing. It's got all you need, you can restore files which are deleted cause it has a recycle bin. Try it and tell us if it will work fine on Lollipop. I'm using it ,but my Z2 is still running on Kit kat . On Kit kat the ES file manager has some restrictions. For example moving files from internal storage to the SD card is not allowed, only file commander can do this. Some files can't be deleted ,an error message pops up telling you that you have to root your phone to make ES file Explorer work well. Please tell us if it will work perfectly on Lollipop, cause I'm going to update to Lollipop sooner or later.
Thanks a lot.
