XZ1 compact - First USB connection to PC to transfer files - also charging or just transfer ?

I would like to know if when I choose "Transfer files" the phone will also be in charge or not ?

I read that it is not recommended to charge the phone through USB, so when I need to transfer files 

what is better ?

- unplugging the device from the pc when the transfer is finished to finish charging on power outlet or let it charging on the pc ...?

Battery life is so good that I want to preserve it ..

I think like for like the USB connection itself will not cause any more harm than plugging it into a normal charger although you may find it's a lot slower vs. something like a QC3.0 mains adapter.

The most important thing to prolong the overall life of your battery is to not have the device plugged in and sat at 100% for too long. If you go into the Battery Care option in the phone menu you'll see more information on this (and what you can do to reduce battery degradation).
