Hi there!
After update to Oreo my XZ Premium (and my XZ1 Compact) sometimes (but not always) cannot reconnect to saved WiFi networks. Even if I go to WiFi settings and force it to connect via menu it still cannot connect. It connects smoothly after restart. Very annoying.
Another interesting bug is that sometimes it takes my phone quite a while to open address book. Restart cures this one too.
Any idea?
I know this is a problem affecting many people using the XZ Premium...but if you take a few moments to Google this: "Oreo and WiFi Problems" you will see that going to Samsung or anyone else is not the solution. This is an OREO problem!
That is why I will say for the umpteenth time that GOOGLE NEEDS TO STOP MAKING NEW VERSIONS OF ANDROID AND JUST FIX THE ONE WE ALREADY HAVE!!!!!!
You need to understand that many of us have had wifi issues with the xzp since before Oreo and then we got a patch in September, only for that progress to be undone with Oreo.
at least other manufacturers acknowledge the problem instead of pretending it doesn't exist or telling us to reset our devices when they know for a fact it won't fix the problem.
"Oh, sorry for your inconvenience, here's some more inconvenience, enjoy!"
HI!
I have the same problem with my wifi its very hard to connect to wifi network. I have the dual sim version. Even though in safe it is still the same its hard to connect. And also it disconnects to my wifi network very often. I tried connecting thru wps it connects but it takes time. Please Sony fix this problem it is very annoying.
Same prprobl. IIhaveI to restart the phophoevery morning oroafter no use forfafor while.
Same here WiFi turns off and won't reconnect, only had the phone four days. Disappointed
Can Sony / Google issue a fix for the WiFi connection problem? (Even affects Google Pixel phones). I've tried everything and nothing helps. Sony could push a downgrade to 7.1.1 but won't. Are Sony / Google going to pay any excess data charges because the WiFi is broken? I think not. I may have to return the phone as being 'not fit for purpose'.
Hi,
I found an option in developer settings that might help with this problem. Try to enable wifi verbose logging and Aggressive wifi to mobile data. Hope it helps.

In my case WiFi was working fine till Jan update. ...then all went to .
In fact the phone was pretty much perfect till then 😢😭
Go Setting > Network and Internet > Wifi > Wifi Preferences > Advanced > Network Rating Provider
Switch from "Google" to "None"
