Hi there!
After update to Oreo my XZ Premium (and my XZ1 Compact) sometimes (but not always) cannot reconnect to saved WiFi networks. Even if I go to WiFi settings and force it to connect via menu it still cannot connect. It connects smoothly after restart. Very annoying.
Another interesting bug is that sometimes it takes my phone quite a while to open address book. Restart cures this one too.
Any idea?
I'm having the same wifi woes with my XZs since moving to Oreo.
I've tried all the update patches and the same wifi issues are present in all firmwares, I'm now on Jan 2018 patch.
I've tried Sony Support and am astonished by their lack of professionalism and care, one of the worst support services I have ever experienced!
I'm facing the same issue with my dual sim version 😫
Have the same issue on my two Sony devices: XZ Premium and XA1 Ultra !!!
Periodically they lose connection to WiFi or access to the Internet (through WiFi) and only can resume it after rebooting! The rest devices in the network work well though.
PS: Keep on watching the degradation of Sony and their mobile department. Wondering how long they will last before they shut down the production like they did with Vaio laptops.....
....So many blatant and stupid mistakes made by a company, which used to be one of the best....
I have the same problem with my phone. It connects to if I but after some time it cuts off, then it says "problem authenticating" then after some time it connects back to the wifi... I would like to know how to fix this
Follow the steps below and report the result to me:
1 - factory reset router and Re-Configure your router again.
2. Reset Wi-Fi network settigns:>>>Go to Settings -> Network & Internet -> tap on the 3-dots icon on the top right corner -> Reset network settings -> Confirm by tapping "RESET SETTINGS"
3. Reboot your phone.
4- Repeat step 2(reset Wi-Fi network settigns)
5. Now connect to Wi-Fi.
Make sure you tell me the result.
my phone is XZ1 and fixed by this way
If I Network Reset then I'll lose my known WiFi details.
I'm reluctant to lose all my 152 wifi network passwords I already have saved.
I should not have to do this in order to make a firmware upgrade work!
I have noticed that it is particularly bad when connected to certain branded routers/modems TP-Link in particular.
If this workaround is guaranteed then I'll do, but it is no export/import of WiFi network SSID and password function in Oreo.
I've got exactly the same issue ☹️
Same issue with my XZ1C
Same here as well
Similar issue here, thought it was the router at first but it is NOT.
XZ Premium, single sim, updated to Oreo.
Several times a day, wifi icon disappears, when I go into settings it says "disabled" underneath the network name. I click it, it reconnects.
Support have been useless. Resetting the phone (both hard and soft) has been useless.
This will be my last Sony. Going back to Samsung.
