Xperia XZ Randomly Rebooting

Hi,

I recently bought the Xperia XZ for Christmas, however, I've been having one problem with it, and it's annoying. It is rebooting/crashing for no apparent reason. Even when it's just sitting at my desk doing nothing. I've made sure it has plenty of battery so it cannot be an issue with it running out of battery. It's running Android 7.0 with only a few apps downloaded from the Play Store. Additionally, I've used the "repair" feature of the Sony Companion Application on my computer, but the issue still persisted.

If anyone can give me some guidance on how to fix this, it'd be appreciated. Thanks.

UPDATE: Phone keeps crashing/rebooting even when in safe mode.

I contacted support through live chat and they directed me that I should send in my device for repair.

Hopefully this helps anyone else with this issue.

I have encountered the same problem with my Xperia XZ.  Why would the SIM or SD card be the problem? Using another SIM card is not really an option because it would mean to have another phone number during that time. When I first used the phone and put in the SIM an error message appeared on the screen and the phone restarted,  so it should be a problem with it..

I experienced this situation many times since I received the phone just over a week ago. It tended to occur mainly when accessing the camera however it wasn’t confined to this. Yesterday I returned the phone to O2 in line with my 14 day cool off and opted for another manufacturers device which was less unstable. However aside from this reboot situation, which I read has been an issue since at least December 2016, I very much liked the device. It was with reluctance that I had to let it go but ultimately I need reliability, which this phone could not offer.  Maybe the next iteration of the device when it hits the streets next year.

I switched SIMs, I added and removed SD cards too. The problem is consistent and to be honest I’m surprised more users have not reported it, unless reports are being hidden from publication?

I had the same problem... random crashes & reboots!! 

Things I tried...
- Switch the SIM
- Switch the SD card
- Factory Reinstall

...but even after a clean factory reinstall (using the phone only) & not having SIM nor SDcard inserted.. I still had the problem within a couple hours & continuously!!!  

SOLUTION: I found on another website the advice: 
- Software Repair from my computer ...which seem to do the same as Factory Reinstall above... 
- it's been a couple days without the problem so far... Knock on wood tho..
