Hi,
I recently bought the Xperia XZ for Christmas, however, I've been having one problem with it, and it's annoying. It is rebooting/crashing for no apparent reason. Even when it's just sitting at my desk doing nothing. I've made sure it has plenty of battery so it cannot be an issue with it running out of battery. It's running Android 7.0 with only a few apps downloaded from the Play Store. Additionally, I've used the "repair" feature of the Sony Companion Application on my computer, but the issue still persisted.
If anyone can give me some guidance on how to fix this, it'd be appreciated. Thanks.
UPDATE: Phone keeps crashing/rebooting even when in safe mode.
Hello,
I've had yesterday the same issue with a different model (xperia E5); this phone is brand new, too.
I managed to apparently solve (for now) by deactivating wifi. Once deactivated, the phone had no issues anymore,
while before it locked and rebooted many times...
Disabling the Wi-Fi cannot be a solution as internet is used for many functions of the phone.
The meaning was not to find a solution, but to try to identify and isolate the problem, so that we might have more luck in sony finding out our issue and giving us a real solution...
Ah, I get what you mean now.
UPDATE: Phone keeps crashing/rebooting even when in safe mode.
does it give any error?
since you already have repaired using xperia companion and tried software repair
i suggest to contact your local service center to have this sorted out. Local support
It's not saying any obvious error, however, under the diagnostics in settings it states that it was a "system incident". Since Sony support is closed right now, I will contact them tomorrow to see if they are aware of this issue and if they are planning to release a hotfix. If they're not, I'll seek my repair options.
I'm very sorry to hear that your phone is restarting
Would it be possible for you to try the phone with another SIM card and see if this still happens? If you have an SD card, also try removing this. If there's something wrong with the SIM or SD card, this might cause the phone to restart itself.
If that doesn't help and you've also tried a software repair using Xperia Companion i recommend that you contact a service centre or your Local support for assistance.
Since I don't have another SIM card, I've removed it and tried again. I don't have an SD card. The issue still occurs. I'll contact support now.
