My Xperia XZ premium (18 months old) recently had a software update and since then the fingerprint reader does not work and the phone keeps randomly rebooting. I am not 100% sure whether the issue is linked to the software update or if this is just coincidence. This normally happens after I either try to answer an incoming call or go to make a call. It is very annoying. I have tried a diffreent sim card in it and it is still doing the same thing. I have also tried a system restore from the system menu.

Try enter in safe mode and see any problem there.. a 3rd party app might causing this. If u know any recently installed call handling apps try uninstalling it. Uninstall Truecaller app too if u hav given permission to it. Update has no issues. Also power off the phone and wait some minutes before turning it on. Try resetting settings n reset options. If all else fails , back up everything and do factory reset.
Most probably reset settings solves it. Ensure battery has atleast 80% charge just in case something goes wrong and to have window to repair using Xperia companion.
I also have same issue I have done a factory reset and booted in safe mode I've deleted the reddit app as I assumed that was causing the issue as it went away for 24hrs but now it has returned I've lost the fingerprint recognition and it'll either crash upon unlocking or randomly reboot when in some kind of use?
