Why so many updates?

I have had my phone for a week and have upgraded the operating system 6 times. As soon as I install an upgrade it tells me a new upgrade is available. This is getting old.

Hi @JeffH and congratulations on your new Xperia phone! 

You might experience that if you have bought an Xperia model that is not completely new (XZ2 Compact was released in the spring of 2018), there may be a few software updates available. You can either install them one by one, and restart your device after every update, or you can perform a software repair using Xperia Companion and your device will get the latest update at once.

Keep in mind though that if you choose to repair the software, all user data will be erased from the phone, so it is advised to do a backup before the repair in order to avoid data loss.
