Mobile payment has already become the most popular and convenient payment method in China, and among many mobile payment modes, WeChat pay and Alipay are the top choices of people when it comes to shopping both online and offline. Of all the smartphones that are sold in China ,including Nokia, HTC, Samsung, Apple, Huawei, OPPO, VIVO, etc. , Sony Xperia is the only brand that's not applicable with WeChat pay and Alipay; its fingerprint module can serve nothing but one function, vis a vis unlock the phone, which is almost equivalent to functionless and inconvenient. This is one of the many reasons that Chinese consumers stopped favoring Sony Xperia smartphones. Without basic functions like fingerprint payment, localized T9 dialing, unwanted text message and incoming call shielding, the market performance of Sony Xperia smartphones has got caught in a vicious down-spiraling in China.
Does Sony Mobile ever intend to add fingerprint payment feature to its Xperia smartphones in China?
Well, is it possible that the app is actually not including this feature. Because my bank app from Canada, which Sony have already closed all its stores, support fingerprint login. I guess it's more or less similar?
nope, every other brands support the WeChat Pay and AliPay with fingerprint payment, ONLY Xperia can't.
We need xperia to support alipay&wechat fingerprint payment.😗
Yes, that's very important for us. We hope this situation can be solved as soon as possible.
This feature has been missed for so many years...
Urgent need, seriously.
That's true. Absolutely it is inconvenient when u only can pay via inputting pwd rather than using fingerprint with a fingerprint-abled cell phone. I think Xperia is an exellent series of smartphone, and I love it very much. But I still wanna it can be better and Sony Mobile can pay more concentrate on Chinese Social Situation i.e. chinese user's daily use.:smileyheart:
This is also ridiculous. Why can other brands be achieved while SONY can't?
@Zackbuks once again, Sony can't do anything about functionality of apps that aren't developed by them.
some time ago, Viber app was freezing on Xperia XZ Premium while working fine on all other models. it was Viber developers who had to fix the issue because, again, Sony can't change anything about the way third party apps work. same here.
