Hi, has anyone here tried (or currently owns?) Xiaomi USB-C earphones with XZ2? I narrowed down from the very few direct type C headset options available around here to this set; problem is no shop sample and the local practice here is: you can open the sealed box to try only *AFTER* purchasing.... They would only guarantee to be fully compatible with their type C phones, the Mi 6 and Mi Mix 2. Until Sony releases their own direct type C earphones I'll have to make do for now. Btw, this set has pretty good specs (hybrid 1 driver/1 armature with active NC to boot!) at a very decent price. Cheers!
I would expect them to work from the USB C port as the standard is universal.
And yeah, I had a few piston earbuds before and thought they were great for the money.
Enjoy!
Hi, just to give an update on this topic: I went ahead and got me the Mi type-C set, without turning this into a Mi product review (that's for a separate venue) just on the compatibility note alone I'd recommend for those looking for direct type-C set for XZ2: control buttons (up/down volume, stop/play) work, ANC works, microphone works too.
OK, a small summary review 😄 : I'd say 80% performance of my tripple driver Sony XBA series buds at 20% the price - i.e. GREAT for the money. Now, if only Sony would release accessory type-C replacement cable for XBA series so I can use back my existing set...
Cheers!
Xiaomi Noise Cancellation In-ear Earphones Type-C is working wiht Xperia XZ2
- Buttons: volume up/down, pause - work
- ANC: work excelent (looks like it need only power from your phone to work)
- Microphone: work (although it wasn't working out of the box - I had to modify Developer Tools -> Enable USB audio routing)
- Audio quality: detailed sound but veeery flat bass - I had to use Headphones Equalizer App to fix it
