I don't understand the logic of why Sony would choose to locate the icon in an upside down position. Who here places their phone screen side down when not in use?
@XprncD hold your phone as if you were to take a horizontal photo. now look at the power button. also, if the power button icon was rotated the other way, it would be upside down when compared to the camera button icon.

How much time is spent taking photos compared to using the phone for the numerous other purposes, while I can see your logic then it should at least be rotated to the left so sits upright with the phone other wise it is in the upside down position for the rest of the time.

well, usage patterns vary from person to person. for example, I definitely spend more time actually using my phone than looking at the icons on the phone's buttons 🙃

Apparently lots of users do.
That's why Samsung have that edge notification lighting. I don't but my mate does.
I don't think it's ever bothered me tbh
It's the little details that count, I'm of course.
