system ui has stopped

My XZ1c just updated some apps and the system ui crashed.
After restarting I get the security pin unlock screen, then the screen turns black.

When I press the camera button, I get to see the camera screen but the message "system ui has stopped" keeps popping up.
Can't seem to get anywhere other than camera or restart. same thing also happens in safe mode.

I never rooted my phone or changed rom or anything like that only used nova launcher.
I would appreciate your help.

I was hoping to find a solution without a phone wipe but at least my xperia is working again.

Hi, may I just ask if what to do next after installing XPERIA Companion, I'm experiencing same trouble also, about System UI has stopped. I downloaded the app but it was just about transferring data and files into another phone. How will this app can fix trouble? Hoping for your kind reply, thank you so much!

I did all the steps which were shown and I'm not sure if everything is right because it takes a bit too long also I can't find the phone is still connected to the laptop. can you tell me please how long can take a software reinstallation?  (Sony Xperia xz1)
