Hi,
My Sony Xperia XZ wont turn on, it had about 30% battery left. I left it on the side and when i came back to check it, it was dead. I have tried holding down the power and volume up button but nothing is happening.
Has anyone got any suggestions?? i only bought it it October when it came out 😞
Hi @annekads27,
I am sorry to hear that your XZ will not turn on
All I can suggest it to let it charge for a few hours, and try run a software repair using Xperia Companion.
If this doesn't work, your Local support team should be able to arrange a repair assessment for you.
Hi,
The cause of these strange behaviours of the XZ is related to the Qualcomm Snapdragon 820. As for the 810, this one is a processor not well made, better respect the 810, but not well made however. It is also the cause of sporadic overheat events and not longer battery life (high battery drain).
This is the main reason to what Google has used the newer Snapdragon 821 to its Pixels.
The only hope is that Sony could be optimize its Android version as well as possible considering this issue.
Hi @annekads27
First, plug your turned off device to the wall charger and let it charges for 2-3 hours or more and then try to turn on it.
If it turns on, proceed in this way:
1) factory reset by the device (App>Backup &Restore);
2) when the welcome screen is showed, open Xperia Companion and connect the device to PC;
3) connection to PC and perform a Software Repair (that install the latest firmware and system update);
5) at the end of repair, first boot and full configuration as new device;
6) reinstall all apps.
Weekly clean the cache manually, storage your videos and photos on the SD card and uninstall the apps don't used to keep "light" your device.
Let know if that helps you.
I experiencend the same thing. Not finding anythn online I was lucky by trying by pressing (at the same time) the VOLUME DOWN + POWER + SHUTTER button for art least 3 seconds
I am also currently experiencing the same problem. I was about to call my mama and my phone didn't respond, it just went dark. I used my computer to check for solutions, one which I did was holding the power button and +, but this didn't work as I have done it over and over for about 10 seconds each time.
I am currently charging the phone to see it would come back. I am presently regretting buying Sony Xperia XZ should have gone for an iphone.
