Hi, everyone! I'm having a terrible grain on my XZ Premium. I thought at first it was maybe to the high resolution screen, but on my computer it's the same. I also compared it to OnePlus 2 and iPhone 8, and it looks like a $100 phone compared to both. Is it just that I got a bad phone or is it the whole series? Because all reviews online say it's a beast of a camera...
Well, it's not just in low light. Even the front camera works better.
I think Sony cripples the camera software on purpose. For some obscure reason they were not able to turn on the fingerprint reader for the US...I have read all the possible reasons...and they produce some of the best camera sensors on the planet...that's why so many other OEM's like Samsung, etc., etc. continue to buy them from Sony...and yet Sony cannot make their own sensors work as well as the other phone manufacturers???? Something smells fishy here!
Of course they really had no choice but to provide a FIX for the wavy lines that so many complained about. But I would bet dimes-to-dollars that Sony makes way more money selling camera sensors to all the other OEM's than it does selling its own phones. Now what do you suppose would happen to all those sensor sales if Sony was to put out a phone that took the best pictures of them all??? Maybe there is some sneaky deal going on in the background where Sony promises to sell their sensors at a reduced rate as long as they make sure their phones are not capable of taking the same great pictures as Samsung, or several others. :smileysmileywink:
I can understand why we have such a noisy photos from high quality sensor, because software is not a Sonys strengh. But i can not understand why they can not let other peoples do the job. Give us tools, Sony. Camera2api, raw etc
