Nougat 7.0 - Delete all contacts not possible?
Earlier I could "mark all contacts, and then delete.
I only found out that I have to mark the contact I want to delete, and then do that with every contact.
I big job if I want to delete all contacts, if you have about 600 contacts...
Not possible in Nougat?

I don't understand why you would want to delete 600 contacts but you could use different apps to do so, you can also sync your contacts with google and you can edit the contacts as you please on a computer and sync back, you can also send your feedback to Sony >>> Local support

Hi @vikingdriver58, welcome to our forums!
In Android 7.0 you do not have the option to mark all contacts when deleting them. You need to press and hold on a contact, you will now see the list of your contacts and next to them there is a checkbox that you can mark.
Like @uliwooly recommended, you can either use a third party application or delete your contacts if they are synchronized with Google directly from the link below.
contacts.google.com
I can see how this can be a useful option to have so I will forward this as user feedback!
Let me know if there is anything else I can assist you with.

The reason is simple. When I got the new phone, using Xperia companion, not all contacts where transfered from the old one. So before sending all contacts from the old phone over to the new, I want to dele all contacts on the new phone, and then send all contacts from the old one using bluetooth. I have done that almost every time I have got a new phone....
I don't want 2 of eacth contact.
And, I never needed an app for that earlier, it was very easy to do this

Thank you for the anwer.
I think this is strange, but glad to see that you pass on the issue to the right people:-)
Hopefully it will be back on the next update.

@vikingdriver58 There is an option to delete all contacts, but its a bit more difficult to perform. You need to go to settings - apps, tap on 3 dots and show system. There, look for contacts storage. Open the app, tap on storage and clear data.

@alexdon, That is an awesome recommendation, thanks for that!
That works great for contacts that are stored directly in the phone and are not synced with for example, a Google account.

is not possible that lacks this option, it is important when for some reason the contacts, of an email account for example, do not cancel.
I have to cancel 1000 to hand contacts ??

Hi @AndreaSoc,
I'm afraid I don't quite understand what you mean, so excuse me if I give you the wrong information/instructions.
If you want to delete contacts that you have synchronized from for example, a Google account you can always delete them directly from the account and not in the phone.
You can also hide contacts from a specific account with the Filter option the contacts application, press the 3 dots in the top right corner > Contacts to display > Customize. Tap on the small arrow pointing down to open up the account, now you will see the different groups that are connected to the account, uncheck the box next to the group and it will now longer be shown in the Contacts application.
To access your Google contacts, open up the following link contacts.google.com.
Let me know how it went, and let me know if I misunderstood your question!
