MMS size limit

Is there a way to increase the limit? I use Sony's default messaging app and although I've no real issues with it, I noticed that there's some limitations when it comes to sms/mms sending. It has the option to add gifs to messages but every time I try to pick one it tells me size is too big. And yet I do regularly receive the gifs with no issue.  Same with videos, if you do in-app videos their quality is really poor and tiny.

Is there a work around the issue or am I going to be forced to use a third party sms/mms app instead?

The maximum size for MMS is carrier-dependent, and usually is set to 300kB. You may wish to contact your network operator for more information on this.

If you want to send larger, higher quality photos it is better to use an instant messaging app such as Hangouts, or email them.
