Since some 10 days, my XZ Premium would frequently freeze with a blank wallpaper for a long time after unlock shown as below. I uninstalled all recent apps and this did not work. I then disabled all screen lock methods including fingerfrint, pattern and swipe. It would still freeze for a moment on any app that is active after the wake-up.
Quite a few users are now having or had this same problem and the only solution is to set the phone to factory default. But this would erase all your data from the phone.
I would like to know if there is a better solution or will Sony fix this bug on the next system update?
Thank you for any answer that is helpful.
Thank you quester. I find that all goes well in safe mode, just like a brand new phone.
Safe mode disables all installed 3rd party apps. If the problem is resolved while in this mode then one of your installed apps is causing this issue and you have to figure out which one by uninstalling apps one by one.
Alternatively, you can perform a software repair using Xperia Companion. This will do a clean installation of the latest firmware and will also wipe your internal memory. Don't forget to backup using Xperia Companion, but preferably without adding apps or settings to the backup.

I have similar problem as you, can I know which application causing this problem?
