Cannot answer calls

Hello, for the past month or so I have been unable to answer calls on my XZ1. The phone will ring, I get the incoming call screen, and I try to swipe the circle up to answer the call, but the call does not answer.

I have a G8341 running 47.1.A.12.235 but had the same problem on the previous security update version.

Did you tested the device in safe mode to discard any third party app acting?

Jeg har nøjagtigt det samme problem 8 ud af 10 gange jeg har lavet reset, tastelås og ikke tastelås, skiftet ringet e til standard intet virker 

I have exactly the same problem 8 out of 10 times I've made reset, key lock and no key lock, switched ring e to default nothing works

I have the same problem.

I often cannot answer the incoming calls by swiping upvthe green button.

I've updated to 47.1.A.16.20 and factory resetted but didn't help.

I'll wait for Android 9.0 update to see if the problem would be solved, otherwise I'd throw it away, get a blackberry key2 and never buy Sony phone again, as I cannot accept a phone that "betray" me.  It's really ridicious, a phone that cannot answer calls!

I have understood this problem and i have this problem. I think ear sensor or light sensor doesn't awake. if you can close your hand on ear sensor and behind get your hand up at this call time, button is reworking. I think software problem. We need your help Sony.

Sometimes I have same problem, red the button (for answer call) does not move, it does not actually work the entire display and I have to turn off the on-screen switch and turn on the display

If I put the XZ1 inside trouser pocket, when calls come, then I take it out and swipe the button, almost 100% doesn't work, touch screen doesn't response.

I have to use my thumb to cover the proximity sensor/light sensor once, then the touch screen would be "activated", then I could answer the call.

It's a very annoying bug, as I use the phone for business use most, I cannot miss any important calls.

If this bug still exists in Android 9.0, I won't use  anymore, Xperia could be a nice gaming device, media player or camera, but not for business use.

Today XZ1 didn't let me to answer an important call again, I sold it away and got a blackberry already.

Before I sold it, I took a video clip to prove that the problem exists.

I was a loyal sony mobile user, started from Aspen, Neo, Pro, P, V, Z Ultra, T3, C3, M4 Aqua, X Performance, XZs, now ended by this buggy XZ1. Thanks for sony mobile's ignorance to bug reports and buggy firmware.

I don't know whether I'd choose xperia or not in the future, but at this moment, I don't consider Xperia as my primary phone, since I'm a business traveller.

Sorun devam ediyor. Cok kotu guncelleme ile yapamıyorlar sorunun ne olduğunu bilmiyorlar ilgileniyorlar. 

The problem continues. Many are interested in not knowing what the problem is that they can not do with the upgrade.
