Apps cannot be transferred to SD card

My XZ Premium is only a day old and much to my surprise I can't move apps to my 128 gb SD card , in fact I can't even see the specific option to move them as I had in my previous X Performance.

I mean....??

Is 7.1.1 that much different from my ex X Performance???

even with class 10, it's still slower than internal storage. personally, it's not an issue for me, I mostly use my SD card for storing music and photos, internal storage is sufficient for me when it comes to apps.

I believe the option was removed because 1. apps moved to SD card tend to load slower than from internal storage because of lower storage speeds and 2. external storage tends to be less reliable at times than internal.

Thank you!

It makes sense, but I did not have speed issues with my X Performance and I used the same SD!

Does every Premium have the same problem? Do you also have the same annoyance?

My SD card is a class 10 speed, it should not have any speed issues .

So to summarize, you also don't have the move to SD option, do you?

nope, no such option for apps here. Settings > Storage & memory > Transfer data there are only options for music, pictures and videos.

I find removing this feature stupid, i have the Audible app with over 20GB of books, several large games and in one day i have filled the internal storage to max capacity.

I brought a new 64GB class 10 sd card to go in this phone and have used less than 200MB.

I do not even have room for updates, its all good them saying that it will slow down your phone but to remove the function completley ,  i have only had xperia phones untill now and have have been a big fan of them but for them to remove a function that i have used on all my phones for years without any problems lowers my opinion of sony.

i have always being able to install what i want without having to worry about storage but now i may find myself switching to a nother band of phone.
