Answerphone

Updated from Z3 to XZ2 and cannot seem to find an answerphone inbuilt into the phone - only the mobile provider 'cell secretary'.  Is there anyway to activate this or a reliable 3rd party app available from the play store that people recommend?

Thank you @C_R_Ash for the quick reply!

Yeah it was indeed a great feature. As I personally use my service providers service for voicemail, I do not know if there is a similar third party app. Try entering "voicemail" in the searchbar in Play Store and I am sure that you will find an app to your liking.

Hi @C_R_Ash, let me see if I can help out here.

As you mentioned, there is no pre-built voicemail service in the XZ2. However, If your subscription includes a voicemail service, callers can leave voice messages for you when you can't answer calls. Your voicemail service number is normally saved on your SIM card. If not, you can get the number from your service provider and enter it manually. To enter your voicmail service number manually, please follow the steps below.

  1. Find and tap Phone (the Phone app).
  2. Tap the menu button (three vertical dots) > Settings > Voicemail > Advanced Settings > Voicemail settings > Voicemail number.
  3. Enter your voicemail number.
  4. Tap OK.

I hope that helped, let me know if you have any further questions! Slightly_smiling_Face

Thanks Martin - yes I have voicemail service as offered / provided with the Sim however I did prefer the answerphone software that was built in with my old Z3 (not sure on version of android this was).  As this doesnt seem to be any longer available, is there a decent download app from play store that does this function?
