Amazon Prime video force installed after recent software update

Why  did Sony decide to include the Prime Video app on my phone after the most recent update for the XZ Premium?

1. There was no notification of it, or inclusion in the changelog 2. Why was it forced? 3. I can't uninstall it only disable it.

Anyone else out there with the same issue? Or am I just going crazy? Its one thing to include bloatware when you first buy the device, but to include it after a few months from purchase is not nice.

@mikroteek if you don't want to use it, find it in Settings > Apps and disable it. it's in the system partition, so it doesn't use internal storage available for music, photos and so on while it's disabled.

I've had the app preinstalled since I got this phone, if I remember correctly. perhaps it only now got available in your region, and that's why it wasn't preloaded on previous software versions.

I know I can disable it, I am just upset it was force installed without my knowledge.

I thought it was one of the major announcements pre release, even at the point of device announcement it was stated that xzp would partner with Amazon prime for 4k HDR video .

Most users complained that it wasn't included at release tbh.

Disabling is NOT possible. I fully agree that such a forced install, especially after the very first release and being include in a security patch (Oct 2017), is a complete disdain by Sony towards its clients.

I can disable it fine?
