hey, my zylo phone recently started acting up. once i turn it on the screen's backlight turns on, the keypad lights up however the screen stays black. and doesnt post any images.
anyone had the same problem?
thanks
We have seen this black screen issue in some other models, the most common solution to this problem is to update the phone using update service, if up-to-date at the end it should give you an option to reinstall the software. Try that is doesn't work let us know.
how do i update/reinstall software????
please and thank you
Hi, in order to update your phone you will need to download the update service to your PC. I have posted a download link below, when you run this application please follow the steps it provides

my phone didnt come with a usb adaptor when i bought it.
is there any alternative way to update?
or a place i could buy an adaptor from?
There is only one option to do the Software update and is using the USB cable, as for a place where you could buy it try to get in contact with the same place where you bought it from to see if they sell it.
just tell me if u succeed after updating ur mobile.......................i know u'll get nothing.Take my suggestion just sell it cuz i too have this mobile and have not got it since 66 days from the service center...
And ya about the SEanswers they just suck.Their work is just to keep the chatting going on,cuz they are paid for that.
1. I have the same problem. My last Zylo did the same thing last year, I assumed it had overheated and I bought a new PAYG one, exactly the same.
2. Today the replacement has just done the same thing; hence I have come here looking for help. Statistically the odds of the same thing happening twice are very low indeed unless it is a known common fault, which is astounding really; if it is a common known fault, they should have undertaken a recall as carmakers do.
3. I have just spent an hour and a half of my life downloading the service updater software, and software update, installed it on my phone, and it is still doing the same thing. It rumbles when I switch it on, the keypad backlights, but the screen doesn't come into life. Despite when I went through the software upgrade the screen lit up as it should do normally.
Not only is the phone software-hardware interface clearly inadequate and unreliable, but I would use the phrase built-in obsolescence in a certain context but I guess if I did the Sony Ericsson legal team would go to great lengths to explain that phrase wouldn't be applicable.
Worse still really is the brazen time-thievery of my wasting an hour and a half of my life on undertaking an unnecessary upgrade, which the Sony Ericsson technical people probably know is likely to be futile, but they hope engages and 'locks in' (to use the heart-warming language of marketing) the customer to staying with the brand, as they have 'invested' time with the product (again, notice the linguistic gymnastics involved in turning the word 'wasted' into 'invested').
It is a shame as the basic functionality is good. This repeat fault in a mainstream handset however, is not good at all. That and the frankly disingenuous advice which compounds the problem are more than enough to make me wave the brand goodbye.
I like this phone but I am now on my 3rd one, yes 3rd!
They last 2 or 3 months then wont startup, all of them! From 3 different retailers!
Obviously some serious issue with this model and yes I have tried the repair software and update software.
I have the same problem with my screen! It's blank but sometimes it works when slided down. I tried reinstalling the software twice (with SEUS and through PC Companion) but to no avail... Is there a solution?
