Z5C Skype mic / headset audio input stops when phone gets hot

When using Skype video call the phone gets hotter and when it reaches 45 degc (battery temp) the person on the other end of the call can't hear me. My audio input is no longer being picked up.

Happens with either mic or headset use.

Typically takes around 10 mins before this happens, from cold (30 degc) start.

If I exit call and then reconnect the audio works fine again for a short period (1 to 2 mins) of time but will then stop again. If I let the phone cool then audio will work ok on next call for longer, until phone heats up again then it stops.

I spoke with Skype technical support and they are blaming the phone.

Have I got a dud phone or are others having same issue?

Me too, sometimes it's 30 mins and other times its 10 mins. I think it's the Skype app as I haven't had any other problems with this phone. It runs hot when using the camera for a while but worka fine

Yes. Seems to be Skype app. I've opened a discussion point on their forum too.

They say they are investigating. Be great if you add your issue there too. The more report it the better.

Same with my phone,

Hangout works fine, it only stops for skype, but it does get ridiculously hot.

Seriously missing my Z2 now

I have the same issue. I will get 20 minutes before all stops, then if I call back I might get another 2-3 minutes but it's all downhill from there. Never had that with LG or Nokia or Apple..am guessing the screen is the issue, the phone does get hot fairly quickly. As a quick fix, I turn down the brightness to almost nothing when using Skype. Been working so far but obviously not ideal.not sure 007 had the same model after all

Hi. This problem has now been confirmed by Skype. Something to do with microphone sampling frequencies.

They are fixing on a model by model basis.

You will find instructions on the Skype forum.

Mine is now working fine.
