Hello,

I'm sorry to say this, but you come here with a common problem, already exposed in multiples topics, and instead of searching a solution, you blame Sony for a patch. Are you sure the phone is the problem ? I use my Z5C with 48h battery life and it works quite fine under Marshmallow.

You upgraded from Lolipop to Marshmallow, did you clean all apps cache ? Did you check all settings ? Did you try in safe mode ? In last solution, did you restore the phone as new to start from fresh ? There are so many helps you can find here in similar topics, you could check these first.

Z5 models are good phones, and I think Sony made a good job with the Marshmallow update, but unlike iOS, Android needs some precise tuning to fit your use, hope you will find a solution in this forum Winking_Face

In fact this subject has already been treated, no workable solution seems to have been found. Regarding you blame me ... I searched solutions without success.

If you read the posted messages, you must understand these are not phones that are an issue, but the update Android 6 which has been sloppy.

Before the update I had 3-4 days of battery life. Sony advertised in their advertising commercials for this phone saying it provides 48 hours of autonomy. It have 24 hours on standby without any applications launched or made calls or sent messages.

If you buy a car 75 horses, that you bring to the mechanic engineer for an upgrade and you obtain with a car with 35 horses will develop what will be your reaction ?

With out applications in cache, the result is the same. I checked all the settings. I did not buy this phone to use it in safe mode ... or to spend as much time trying to make it work better.

How did you get on your phone for obtain 48 hours of battery life ?

Design and electronics are very good, but the software aspect is bad. This is a rookie mistake that has been committed by the software developers ... it has created a patch that is only available in Japan ? What do they expect to disseminate it widely ?? Sadly what happens to us with these phones is a good example of errors who tarnishing the reputation of a company. This way of doing is almost a commercial scuttling.

Contrary to what you say with Android 5 there is no need to waste time trying to properly operate this unit, everything is perfect, with Android 6 solutions are sought without success.

If I were an executive of Sony, I would have already taken action overlooked the developers and I would have broadcast the aforementioned patch immediately worldwide ...

I hope the patch diffuse in Japan will be available for all in the hours to come up or the next coming days !

Hello,

I can understand what you say, and yes, you should just buy the phone and it should work as you want. I agree with that, but even Apple can't do this with its iPhone.

I did not upgraded from 5 to 6, at each major release I prefer to start from fresh. Then I disable as many apps and services I can that I don't use, like Sony internal apps because I prefer Google apps and Playstation (I don't have one), video editor, music plugins, foreign keyboards, lifelog which consume a lot when logging everything you do, etc... (without beeing root, just with app manager settings). I have one widget and no animated background.

You could save the entire phone with the Sony PC app, then restore a fresh new one and see if the problem is there from the beginning. If no, then try to find which app is the problem, and you can restore your save at any moment if needed.

I personally find Doze quite efficient as I only burn 5% battery during night, but you can wait for next minor update arriving soon which will get back the Stamina mode which many are waiting.

Hello,

Thank you for your reply.

Unfortunately for me I've done executed everything you say without success ... If you are still under Android 5, I understand better that you get good battery life with your phone, I bitterly Regrete of have realized this upgrade to Android 6...

What is Lifelog ? I have not found application with this name ?

I tried installing Greenify without success.

Excuse me for my bad English, it's not my native language.

Best regards

No, I said I did not upgrade from 5 to 6, but start from scratch instead. I'm under Marshmallow now and happy with it.

Lifelog is preinstalled in 6 and you can't uninstall it, just disable it.

The only one solution I found for now to gain some autonomy is to install Greenify.

I found this article that I have not yet had time to read completly and test :

https://www.orduh.com/fix-sony-xperia-z5-battery-drain-overheating/

!! Warning becoming root administrator of the phone may break the guarantee in some countries apparently it !!

Sony made the necessary resolve this issue for users of their phones in Japan but not in the rest of the world ?

They need to change their way of thinking and if they want to satisfy international customers and continue to gain market share rather than lose. In recent years, Sony has stopped the sale of computer monitors and sale of Vaio abroad...

They must understand that they must adopt a new way of thinking to satisfy everyone and do good bissness. Unfortunately the Japanese generally did seem difficult to understand the needs of Westerners, they have a very strong culture and a way of doing good to them... They should really change things, if Sony seeks a counselor I am willing to get into the adventure Slightly_smiling_Face

We all hope that the new firmware build number 32.1.F.1.38 happens in Europe and the rest of the world very quickly, irrespective of telephone operators.

Best regards.

Hello,

Thank you so much for the update to the version 32.2.0.224 in the return of Stamina function.

Unfortunately the new Stamina function does not give me more independence if activated or not activated !? I have only 24 hours of battery life on my phone.

Only Greenify app extends a little life of my battery.

In Ultra Stamina mode, it is regrettable that the Home screen changes ...

I hope you will continue on the Stamina function and make it more effective as she was under Android 5 (3 days of battery life).

Best regards.
