I just bought my Z5 compact yesterday. This morning I found that when I inserted my headphones (the big ones) that the phone doesn't respond to them (they are HyperX cloud-II). So i tried some other headphones which gave the same result. I went down to the store to get it fixed and he tested the phone with an in-ear headset which worked perfectly fine.
Tried with my headphones again when I came home but it still doesn't work. Anyone who can help me? - I'm out of ideas and not that fond of in-ear headsets
Thanks for helping.

I am anxiously awaiting the Xperia Z5 Smart phone to come to the USA shores, but from what I have read in the technical specs the audio out port is a five conductor round stacked port for the HiRes Audio Output. If your headphone cable does not support that it will not work. However do your head phones support Blue Tooth, Bluetooth Radios are typically backwardl compatible with older devices like your headphones. Again, that is just my opinion. Like all good doctors, please get a second opinion, Sir...
From what I can gather it uses a CTIA
No, it's just a basic pair of headphones, no buttons.
Didn't work sadly.
Forgot to mention that when I start my music with my headphones in the sounds comes out from the phone itself. Don't know if relevant but should be mentioned
