I use Polar Flow app to synchronize my training sessions from Polar V800 to the web:
Polar V800 - bluetooth 4.0 - mobile - https - flow.polar.com
I have upgraded from Z3 compact to Z5 compact. Nothing else changed.
Since then the synchronization is almost impossible. The syncing process fails after 30-60 seconds every time. If I am lucky the current training session can be uploaded to the mobile after 5-10 attempts.
Bluetooth HCI snoop log was fine on Z3 compact but not on Z5 compact. Wireshark detected some inconsistencies in the Z5C's bluetooth log: it has been cut short in the middle of a packet.
So I think the bluetooth connection drops very often during data transfer.
Thanks, but this is for Z1 and Z5 not have that path...
I have Z5, not Z1. That link is for Z1...i can't find that path on my Z5.
Thanks
Update:
I started a virtual android tablet on my laptop (android-x86 in an oracle virtualbox). It uses the laptop's integrated BT 4.0 adapter. Installed. The installed Polar Flow app syncs with my V800 buttery smooth.
Summary:
- V800 is OK
- Polar Flow app and Polar's web service is OK
- Samsung Galaxy S3, Iphone 5s, Sony Xperia Z3 Compact and even the latter virtual android tablet on the laptop is OK, they all can sync using BT 4.0 LE:
- Sony Xperia Z5 Compact's bluetooth connection still fails after some time.
Hi there, been googling to try and figure out how to solve the problem I have with my Z5C, not much success so far but it also runs under Bluetooth connectivity issues. I have the SBH70 wireless headphones that are meant to go with the Xperia line - well they work fine with my Apple products but with my Z5C, the connection is "choppy". Listening to music is a bit like listening to a grammophone in an earthquake, not fun at ALL. Tried deleting the SBH70 app and reinstalling, tried with the cover on the phone and without, it keeps happening. It used to be an occasional thing but now it's constant and I'm getting rather frustrated - it's another case of overpromise and underdeliver as I have found in general with my Sony products.
Clearly the problem is with the phone, as the headphones work well with other things - any ideas?
Same problem: I just migrated from Z1 compact to Z5 compact and now can't sync my Polar V800 any longer. Found that the Z5 ist not (yet) in the V800 compatiblity list, so I guess Polar is aware of an issue. I wonder wether such a bug would count as warranty issue or right to return the device?
Unfortunately the Android 6.0 upgrade did not solve the bluetooth issue, still fails Polar V800 syncing with the Polar Flow app.
Summary:
My previous devices:
Samsung Galaxy S3 (4.4.2) was OK.
Z3 Compact (5.1.1) was OK.
My current devices:
Samsung J5 (5.1.1) is OK.
Virtual Android tablet (5.1) in Oracle VirtualBox is OK
Z5 Compact with 5.1.1 was not OK.
Z5 Compact after 6.0.1 upgrade is not OK.
Z5 Compact after 6.0.1 upgrade and after software repair with Sony PC Companion is not OK.
So Z5 Compact is unable to provide a stable bluetooth connection, any other android devices can do that. What a shame
Surprise!
Today I got a small fw update. (FW version did not change: 32.1.A.1.185).
But after the installation+reboot I tried again Polar V800 syncing with the Polar Flow app.
The BT connection was stable, did not drop after 37 seconds and the syncing process was complete. Promising!
I will try it again today evening with a new training session.
Sorry, false alarm
I synced the evening training session and the BT connection drop issue is back. The 'usual' methods (reinstall the app, re-pair the V800 device) did not help.
