Z5 compact Background defocus app Problem

My z5 compact can only shoot Background defocused pics after restarting the device. I tried factory reset and deinstalled and reinstalled the app. No changes whatsoever. It says: can't blur the pics. My z3 compact does fine, for comparison. Any help appreciated.

could you try on safe mode and also, settings > apps > all > camera > clear data > try again.

same here the background defocus not working on Z5C.
