Z3 experience feedback ...

Yes, I'm a huge Apple fan. But, despite being in love with iPhone(s), just because they do work, I thought I will give Android a go and decided to go for a Z3 mainly for it's PS4 integration capabilities.

Overall, I'm happy with the handset but feel it could do much better:

- the battery life is disapointing, I usually end up charging it on a daily basis. And the charging time takes forever

- the WiFi is poor. In my office at home, not too far away from the router, I often have no WiFi connection, whereas my old iPhone which I kept has. Is there any known issue?

- again, with WiFi, I often end up having an exclamation mark on the icon, which I have no idea what it stands for

- it would be nice to be able to store everything on the external memory by default. At the moment I have to wait for a message prompting my internal memory is 75% full and asking me the permission to move everything on the external memory

- my app shortcuts randomly disapear from my screens. I think it's mainly happening when I connect / disconnect my phone from my iMac

- it's a pain to uninstall application. You can't just click on an app and drop it to the 'remove' section. From what I've seen you have to uninstall it from the Play Store

Are you experiencing the same issues?

Thanks

Hi

May I know about the android version you're running ?

- Wifi exclamation mark

- Moving everything to SD card > Settings > storage > scroll down and find "transfer to SD card" > select what all you need to and let it happen.

-To uninstall application > open app drawer and swipe from left to right > you will see this

Select Uninstall and then you can uninstall all the apps you want, easily.

You don't have to go to play store.

Alternatively, you could go to settings > apps > downloaded > tap on any app > uninstall / move to SD card etc

You could by default set photos and videos you take from camera, to save on SD card through the settings present in the camera app.

Regarding app icons disappearing, i suspect these are apps that has been moved to the SD card. If you use the USB connection mode called "MSC", Android will not have access to the SD card while the phone is connected to your computer as MSC requires exclusive access. This can be solved be selecting MTP instead under Settings -> Xperia Connectivity -> USB Connectivity -> USB connection mode. MacOS does however not support MTP by itself i'm afraid but our software Bridge for Mac can connect to the phone in MTP. You should also be able to use this software: https://www.android.com/filetransfer/

WiFi range is a bit harder to say what the cause could be. If your router has dualband i would start by checking which one you are connected to by tapping the network while you're connected under Settings -> WiFi. 2.4GHz usually gives better range than 5GHz.

It's normal for the phone to use a bit more battery when it's new (or after a software update or master reset).

But if you notice that the phone keeps using alot of battery you can check what's using most battery from Settings -> Power management -> Battery usage. It's best to check this menu when battery level starts to get low to get good statistics as it shows since last charge and not current usuage.
