Z3 Compact not working

Hey,

My Z3C (11 months old and always in cover) has stopped working. It started with the last OS 5.1 update. It has killed the WIFI and bluetooth and about three weeks later, the whole phone stop working all together. All it show now is a black screen and an orange charging light.

I've tried holding the power + volume+ for 30secs, pressing the orange little button next to SIM, tired to update firmware with volume- + USB, tried charging for three days... Nothing is working. it is dead as a door nail.

I havent tried to open the phone to manually charge the battery sine that will void the warranty.

I've called sony and they ask if it is an Australian stock. I've bought it new from Oz Digital Online (ebay) thinking it is australian stock but when I got the phone, the bootup was in chinese so I think it is a grey import. I've tried contactOz digital Online and yet to hear from them.

I don't care about the stuff in the phone now. Just want it working and sell it.

Any advise?

Hi,

Is there no reactions at all when you force a shutdown of the device by either power + volume up(+) button or the OFF button? No vibration or similar? Have you tried to force a software repair using PC Companion to see if it can help?

As far as I can see from my side since you have registered your phone at our web page, the phone is original sold to Taiwan. But warranty information should have been included with your phone, is it something that you've seen?

Hi Hampus,

No reaction. Phone sold in Taiwan.... That make sense. Because I remember having a hard time looking for the language menu to change the language from chinese. I am not going to buy another phone from these people. Same with Kogan. All overseas stock.

I called Oz Digital Online and they said to mail it to their service department. I hope I get my phone back.

The reason why I bought it from them is because they said it has Australian warranty. I guess I should have followed it up and ask for Sony authorised Australian Warranty and not the one by the company selling the phone.

Thanks for replying.
