Hello ,
I have a Z2 from about 3 months , the phone is great, BUT in the past few weeks the battery is dying for 1 day , or half a day.
After searching trough this forum , i know that after update , some of the applications have bugs and eat all the battery , like Xperia facebook application. I want to DELETE the Xperia Facebook Application , but i don`t have roout access to my phone.
How is that even possible ?!?! I paid top dollar for the smartphone , it is mine , but i can`t choose what kind of software to have on it? In the past few days i have expirienced some awful situations , had to make a very important call and the phone had no battery , I have recharge the phone 7 hours before that , and he was dead then , seven hours after the recharge.
I want to be able to delete any application that i want. If that means that i have to be root , If i have wanted some **bleep**i firmware , i could bought some stupid smartphone like Samsung or HTC , but instead i have choosen Sony , was that a mistake ?
To delete pre-loaded apps you will need root access, this is true on other brands, not just Sony.
Just go to settings > apps > all > look for the app > disable
I`ve also discovered , that to instal a Firewall or a IPS , i have to be root. What is the workaround for that?
One more question , according to the site steps , my bootloader can not be unlocked.
Why for some Z2 phones the bootloader can be unlocked , and for others not? same hardware , same android version , this is odd
Not all of the apps require root access
You can root your phone but it requires to unlock the bootloader, I don't recomend doing it

The reason for that is that if the phone is or was locked to a carrier/network branded requested the bootloader to be locked, that's up to the network not Sony, it can not be unlocked at all.
Sorry , i didn`t quite get that .

Do this means that my bootloader can`t be unlocked ever? and there is no way to root the phone , because for root the bootloader has to be unlocked.
Indeed, you are not going to unlock the bootloader, ever.
As for rooting, check the XDA forum, usually there are ways to do so w/o unlocking the bootloader but it takes time for the XDA devs to figure it out
