Is it possible to connect my phone (Z1) to my smart tv (LG) and watch films/videos & sky sports. I have a number of apps that let me stream films to my handset, but is it possible to watch them on my tv without any cables??

To watch media stored in your phone on your TV you can use DLNA. When watching for example a video in the phone, tap on the Throw icon and select your TV or select menu (3 dots) and then Throw. You can also enable the media server in the phone under Settings -> Xperia Connectivity -> Media server settings. This allows you to browse the phone from your TV.

To watch media not stored in your phone (for example something that you're streaming) your TV needs to support screen mirroring (Miracast). You can then select it under Settings -> Xperia Connectivity -> Screen mirroring.

My experia z1 won't allow the mirroring function in any browser so it's impossible to stream  anything online to my tv using miracast.. Experia z1 only mirrors album pictures and videos.. Is there away around this or is there an App available to mirror all functions of experia z1 including online browsing and streams..?

Just wondering if the free movies through Xperia privilege for the Z1 can ONLY be played on the phone?

I have a sony Blu Ray and have tried to use the Throw feature and Share feature, which will work for all home videos but not the free movies.

I have backed them up on my pc with Media Go but it will not allow me to play them there or transfer to a usb drive. I connected my phone to the bluRay via USB but nothin happens. I am just not interested in watching movies on a 5" screen.

Any options?
